Collective Post of What I've Done

Below is a list of some of the projects I've had the opportunity to work on thus far. I will be sending examples via email rather than posting them here.
---

Various ad's for various publications - a lot of my busy work during the day comes from various advertisements that need to be edited, reprinted and then turned into PDF's to send out to various clients for new publications. One example: I edited an ad for Jersey Boys which will soon run in The Toronto Star for the sit-down production in Toronto.

Mary Poppins billboards - This was one of the first big projects I worked on. The company was proposing several different billboard designs for the Mary Poppins national tour and I was able to help edit the billboards (using InDesign) and then learn how to print and mount them for a presentation as well as put them in "insitu's" (actual location shots of the images on the billboards they'll be on).

New Lion King ads for The New York Times back page - one of the first big projects I was able to do on my own. The company was pitching to Disney a new idea/slogan for The Lion King and they wanted the new saying to be put on new spreads for The New York Times. I was able to set up the pages myself (using similar designs to the current ad run) and edit them the way I liked for review by Disney.

Hairspray ad-collection book - basically a yearbook of all the ads that were made during Hairspray's run on Broadway. Every page was designed and edited by myself. It was one of the main individual projects I had at the beginning of this internship and I worked on it over a span of the first few weeks. The book includes pages that will pop-out, flip down, and pull out. The book is going to be published and given to the producers of Hairspray (who are now working on a new show, Catch Me If You Can, coming to Broadway next year) as a reminder of all the work the company put into Hairspray's various ad campaigns.

Burn the Floor CTM - this was another project that I was able to start on my own. CTM's are tourist publications (double folded pamphlets) that are distributed in all local tourist locations. I was given the opportunity to start the design for the entire publication myself (the final version was edited by one of the art directors). It will be very cool to see this piece in tourist stands soon.

Burn the Floor title page - for this project I created the title page for Burn the Floor which will be found in the Burn the Floor playbills when the show starts.

Ragtime deck - it was such an honor to work on this project. The company had a huge pitch meeting to try and get a new client for the upcoming Broadway revival Ragtime (which I ironically read the book for last semester at school). I was asked to make the book for the pitch meeting that was handed out to the client and had an overview of the company philosophy and other basic information about how we'd go about creating an ad campaign for the new show. The book was professionally printed and bound and included an embossed cover and differently sized pages (which made the entire publication end up looking like an American flag). Hopefully, I'll be getting a copy of the book to bring back to school for my portfolio.

Disney on Broadway 12-Panel doors - as of right now, the Minskoff theater (where The Lion King plays) has this 12-panel door frame collage of the three Disney shows that are currently on Broadway (The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and The Lion King). Each show takes up 4 different panels and flows from one show into the next seamlessly. Since The Little Mermaid is closing on August 30th, the doors need to be updated to include only Mary Poppins and The Lion King. I'm currently working on a new layout and template for the doors since now instead of filling only four panels, the two shows need to fill 6 each. This involved me using Photoshop to duplicate, clone, and extend what was already made into 2 new panels for each show. The design will be put up on the doors at the end of August. It will be very cool to see the final result of this since it can be viewed in the heart of Manhattan and I'll be able to say that I had a huge role in redesigning the new look.

Promises, Promises deck - Since my Ragtime deck was so well-received, I'm currently starting a new book for the next pitch meeting the company has for the upcoming revival of the musical Promises, Promises. It will be similar to the Ragtime deck and I'll be able to update more on it once I have more of it complete.
