Today was my first day as an intern and I can already tell that I'm definitely going to be kept busy this summer which, is really great! Most of the day was spent getting the six other interns (who are all in account services) and myself (art department) accustomed with the office. We met various employees including our head CEO and it was just an overall really great experience. The environment of the entire place is really laid back and everyone I've met so far is just really pleasant and welcoming. I was given my own desk, mac, phone number/phone, and email account.
I spent my afternoon already getting involved with various projects. I only had an hour or two to work within my department today due to all the orientation plans we had but I have already helped edit the billboard designs for the upcoming Mary Poppins tour (which will be starting in Los Angeles come November) and editing the Wicked pamphlet for this summer. My boss, Matt, who is a production manager was very helpful in showing me the process of everything and how to go about sending projects out to other employees.
I think the next eight weeks are going to be a really great learning experience and I can't wait to see some of the bigger projects I will get to work on in the next few weeks!
