I honestly can't believe how fast these past two weeks have already gone. I'm having a really great time and I think the jobs I'm doing are so beneficial and the people I'm working with are really great. Today I did a lot of work on smaller projects for Burn the Floor, The Lion King, and Grease. Along with doing that, the interns have had several meetings for the past few days to learn about different processes the company goes through to achieve different things. We learned about creative briefs, account management, and more.
This morning myself and another one of the interns went down to the Next to Normal theater, right around the corner, and had to interview the people lined up for the general rush (get to the box office early and they give away 25 front row tickets to the first people in line for only 25 dollars). The company wanted us to ask what time people got there, how they heard about the show/rush line, and a few other relevant questions just to learn more about the fans of the show so we have a better sense of where to advertise for them. The first person in line got there at 4 o'clock in the morning. Crazy!
Next week is a four day week (the office is closed on July 3 for the holiday) but we still have a lot planned! Hopefully all the final edits will be made on my Hairspray book. We're also going to see Mamma Mia on Thursday night for free which is going to be a blast!
The Phantom of the Opera project is coming along smoothly. We have a lot of great ideas so far so hopefully we'll be able to get all our thoughts together and make the final presentation come out really great.

This is really great stuff. You are making me really miss living in NYC. Enjoy it all. It really is a great city with loads of great people. If anyone tells you NYers are not nice, they don't know what they are talking about. If someone isn't nice, they usually don't live there.
ReplyDeleteI am very envious of all the fun you are having and the experinece you are getting.
